Was on 17th August 2019.
This was very well received, thank you Pam Babcock and to the bakers and other helpers, without who the event would have not been possible.

Greetings to New Members
Afternoon

An afternoon of tea/coffee and a slice of homemade cake, was put on for our new members who had joined over the last few months or so. It was held by invitation only on Saturday afternoon 23rd March 2019. Some of the cakes were more popular than others, but all bakers did a very good job, thanks to them and the other volunteers who came a long to explain some of the details about their group to the new members. Thank you.

Volunteers' Lunch

On 6th October 2018 volunteers past and present attended a special lunch organised by Chairman Marie Morgan as a "thank you" to them all for their loyal help in keeping the Centre operating on a day-by-day basis - some of them having done so for many years.

Everyone enjoyed a buffet meal with wine, comfortably seated while being waited-on by a team of helpers, largely from the New Milton Residents' Association Community-In-Action group, to whom grateful thanks are due.

A general knowledge quiz got the room buzzing and it was a great opportunity for all volunteers to chat with each other. Special gifts and raffle prizes were awarded, all helping to make for a very happy, convivial occasion.

Macmillan Coffee Morning 2018

As part of the Largest Coffee Morning in the World, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care, on Friday 28th September the New Milton Community Centre held a coffee morning. What a splendid and well attended occasion it turned out to be. Cakes of every shape, size and flavour had been donated by Bashley WI, our own volunteers, Morrisons, Tesco and were very much appreciated by all who indulged in what was on offer.

The coffee morning was hosted by Mary Bishop one of our volunteer Receptionists. The total amount raised was £462; this included a number of donations from people who wanted to support the charity but could not attend.

You can't have a successful event without some backroom workers and we had a really well organised team of our own volunteers, who manned the kitchen, guess the weight of the cake, lucky dip and raffle. Last but by no means least our pianist, President/Newsletter Editor Phyllis Inglis, who dutifully played lovely melodic music for the whole morning.

Our grateful thanks go to Mary and everyone who helped make this such a well organised and successful event.
